Imagine you suddenly realise you have become invisible. You may relish this momentarily but invisibility has wider ramifications. The reality for many aging women is that we are invisible and consequently we have slipped off society’s radar. It is damaging to us and we do not like it. Can you see me now? aims to counter the experience of aging women’s invisibility by producing sculptures that confer women with hyper visibility. The works consider the possibility that age, like gender, is fluid and performative and allows for the various ways women age.
